Community

Players Outreach

One of the most important parts of the Chiefs dedication to the community lies simply in their physical presence. Tuesday is a traditional day off for players throughout the NFL during the season, yet many of the Chiefs use that time to do a good day's work around the community. In fact, it's a common occurrence to see your favorite Chiefs personality any day of the week lending a helping hand to show the importance they place on volunteerism.

CHIEFS YOUTH FOOTBALL OUTREACH

The Chiefs efforts to promote and expand youth football are at the forefront of the organization's focus. While that can be seen in a myriad of different programs, one shining example is the team's youth football field. The first season of this new youth-specific football field located at the The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex was a rousing success. It enabled metro-area youth to get a taste for playing the game they love adjacent to the very location that their NFL heroes do. The best part is that it is made possible thanks to the generosity of the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs. More »

It is a day of fund raising and fun beginning with paper sales in the early morning and concludes with a pep rally in the early evening. During the day-long celebration, the Chiefs raise money for players' charities. Coming up on its 17th season this year, Red Friday has netted over $425,000 total in support of over 60 Chiefs player foundations and aligned organizations.

Rookie Club

The first of its kind in the NFL, the Chiefs Rookie Club has become a model program that continues to spread throughout the League. The goal is to introduce the players to community organizations that are active in their new homes. The rookies have done such things as adopting a grade level at a local elementary school, visiting the local Children's Campus Center, visiting the children of Operation Breakthrough, serving as bell ringers for the Salvation Army, and visiting the seniors of Don Bosco Senior Center.

The Chiefs Children's Fund and Charity Game

Last year alone, over $11,000 and 1,200 toys were amassed for this special cause.
